AvX is becoming truly one of the most dismal comic book reading experiences I have had. The 12 issue arc structure has bogged the whole event down so much that with this issue it seems to barely move at all. This could be excusable if the characters involved had understandable reasons for doing what they are doing however in the logic of this story one group declares war on another group and because of that all the characters attack each other blindly without any influence of personal motivation or past relationships. Makes me pine for the days of Civil War when events had a consistent tone and a consistent voice. Don’t buy in to this manure.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 2 - Average

  1. Agreed, buddy. I’ve given up on it. Would be nice to see these characters act like heroes, rather than spoiled children.

  2. I agree. This makes me wonder why Marvel feels so inclined to mangle their characters into horrid, un-heroic versions of themselves. It’s painful to read, there was no compelling build up or character progression, we just get a bunch of immature, hot headed fools and villains parading around in the once familiar skins of Marvel’s biggest no-longer-super heroes. It’s just sad to look at. But I thought that the art was pretty good, better than a 2 in my book.
