Talk about “phoenix force”. I’ll spare the spoilers on this one but as someone who middle manages for a reviewing, i would have to say that this is a well managed story buy Mr. Fraction. The inner dialogue may seem a bit unnatural at first but its all part of a little story telling rouse that Mr. Fraction took us so he can call it back wonderfully at the end. I enjoyed the little reference to first atomic bomb and the ethics behind it. I’m sure that Mr. Summers’ lawyers would have a field day with the repurcutions of his actions and as a reader i did feel the direness of the situations our characters of this story are in.

The art us an above par performance by Mr. Romita jr. with his comprehensible layouts to his sweeping page spreads. Well done for a mid-story issue with a well played, out of the blue cliffhanger at the end.

  1. Welcome to the land of everyone looks the same. Even women look like men — just with longer, puffier hair.

When the only discriminating factors are the color of hair and costume, why then is it people are so enamored with this kind of art, yet put down other artists only because they use visual references that aren’t the same nose, same lips, same eyes, and same postures they learned in high school while drawing on the desk during math class? Give me Greg Land any day of the week, and I’ll read that comic…

Until then… Why am I buying this book ($3.99)? Oh, that’s right, Coipel takes over next issue. Can’t wait.
