The current issue continues with the Authority/Stormwatch crossover and picks up where the last issue left off, with Eidolon’s ‘Army of the Mad’ attacking the Carrier and a newly rebooted Engineer squaring off with Eidolon. The conclusion of the Eidolon/Engineer fight seemed to come out of left field and too convenient, but it was nice to see that ‘characters’ return even if it was for a brief moment. The rest of the battle seemed to be summed up in one panel, but will probably be expanded upon in the Stormwatch issue, and then it was time for god byes and a hint of what’s up with Apollo being missing. The second half of the issue focused on the Rendlesham plot thread. There are a few good cliffhanger moments dealing with Apollo, Hawksmoor, and Midnighter. This issue seemed to move a little too quickly and wrap things up a little too easily, but without reading the Stormwatch portion and their point of view I might be missing an element of drama.

It’s not to say that I didn’t like it, but I didn’t love it, like I have with the past six issues, but there’s no doubt that Abnett & Lanning ‘get’ these characters and are having fun with the Worlds End landscape. The last page of this issue definitely has me hooked for the next issue. The Engineer has to be drawn more by Simon Coleby, I really like his rendition of the Engineers look and he continues do a great job keeping the gritty look of the story.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
