my book of the week was astounding wolfman #7

trust me, with how many books (and how high of quality books!) i pulled this week, it was a REALLY tough decision.

i had books that that i thought were going in amazing places (astonishing xmen 25), books that had, literally, no flaws (hellboy: crooked man 1), and books that hit every note i wanted them to hit (fables 74)… but wolfman did what i want out of my comics when i read them…. it had me gasping, clapping out loud, and a cliff-hanger that left me wanting for more.
i picked up the first issue (since it was free) and was a bit skeptical about the series. after issue three or so, i thought about dropping the title. four or five issues in, i decided to give it until the first storyline was over before i made a call about what to do with it, and BOY, am i glad i stuck with it.
kirkman said (in the letters pages) that this was the end of the first storyline, and really was meant to be the first real hook the book has. he wasnt lying. i think i know whats going to happen next, but at the same time, ive thought that two or three times already, and have been wrong most of them.

if you are a fan of the horror genre, or a fan of monsters (they dont *have to* coincide) this is a must on your pull list!

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
