We are now nine issues into the relaunch of DC’s new 52.

Just read Aquaman #9 today (I got a ton of comics to read each week, so it takes me awhile), and I must say that this is quietly becoming a wonder read. Every issue so far has been entertaining.

It appears that Geoff Johns has a knack of re-inventing “B” heroes and making them very interesting.

Green Lantern, Flash and now Aquaman.

Very nice story telling and Ivan Reis artwork topnotch in my opinion.

Thought Aquaman was a joke, take a fresh look at what this team in doing with this character and this book.

  1. He needs to spend more time in the water. Land-laden Aquaman makes for dry reads that leave me thirsty for more. I was hooked for the first seven, got sick of the bait, and had to throw this one back. In my opinion, Johns’ Aquaman’s been swimming up river since the opening Trench arc. Reis is awesome though.
