I never really cared for Aquaman before Johns got ahold of the character for the new 52, but I’ve been really enjoying the first 20 issues(0-19). So this was my most anticipated book of this week. That being said, this book can be summed up with one sentence:

An instant classic “Return to comic store for a small amount of credit” issue!

While John Ostrander continues to be one of my favorite Star Wars writers, this issue was a big miss for an Aquaman story. The art looked decent to good throughout the book, but in taking an interlude in the middle of a very interesting story arc and adding little or nothing to the overall story was a horrible mistake. If there is an outcry in the DC universe for more of “The Others”, then introduce a New 52 title that can be canceled 7-10 issues later…

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 3 - Good

  1. I enjoyed the story more than you did probably because I’m a fan of the others, I do agree that it was silly to release this in the middle of a story though. The same thing happened during 0 month which for me was a little more forgivable.

    • Besides the earlier issues in this run, are there more stories with the others? I enjoyed the Others in the earlier issues because it added to Aquaman’s history, but this was just a interruption in my opinion. Thanks for any info on The Others earlier issues.
