A very uneven issue for me. I dig it, it’s still one of my top 4 favorite titles, but story just isn’t flowing well. It probably would in trades, or if I sat down and read them all in order. I didn’t find this issue to be much of a conclusion, either. WHich I guess is one of my complaints about Lemire’s script…too much water treading that does not further enrich or expaand the stories or characterizations. The first 7 issues were really really good. Since then it’s been good–but not AS good. (Annual #1 case in point). I don’t think Ponticelli’s style meshes well with the established tone. Man, I wish Travel Foreman would come back. I’ll buy issue #12 and I”m eager to see the tie-in with Swamp Thing FINALLY freakin’ happen.
