Anyhow, Animal Man, woop woop.

So I guess if i’d ever read DC before the New 52 I would understand that this sort of issue is showing exactly what the New 52 allows them to do without getting lot’s of complaints, we get an Animal Man with a much more physical presence here. I really like it, and if nothing else it makes the art even better. And it made Buddys return just wonderful. Go feathers.

As far as the story it was a nice progression that moves us onto the crossover with swamp thing really nicely, the family’s reunited, Animal Man is stronger and Arcane is coming… and for some reason mullet boy or whatever Buddys son’s name is prophetises this.

And for an issue that in retrospect was just really a big set-up for the battle to come and dealing with some of the issues that have given us the previous issues (which maybe shows the storytelling has perhaps been a bit too extended lately?) it was really good. Yay.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
