This issue was the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup of comics this week. With Jordi Bernet on board with the art, it was like someone blended American Vampire with Jonah Hex. I half expected Hex to jump out and fight with Union soldiers Book and Sweet.

Not only was the art fantastic but the story was great as well. We get a more in depth look of the relationship between Skinner and Jim. It was nice revisiting the old west setting after reading all the WWII stuff. I forgot this was a vampire book until the last page of the issue. This also looks like a good jumping on point for the series. You didn’t need any prior knowledge of the characters to enjoy and follow the story.

Story: 5 - Excellent
