I am prompted to write this review based on the low rankings of most of the ifanboy community and staff.  I do not by any stretch think this a great comic to go down in history that everyone should read for all eternity.  But it wasn’t bad I thought it was actually pretty good and it provides much of the identity struggle that Spider-Man is supposed to have. Perhaps people dislike it because of the clone saga stuff, but take a deep breath and let it go.  I was not into comics then but I understand that crappy stories from the past are part of the characters identity in the present.  Sure the death of Superman, the breaking of Batman, the breakdown of Hal Jordan were all bad stories (the first two in fact were the reason I got into comics, the third made me love Kyle Rayner).  They all sucked, but they are all now part of the characters.  Hal’s story, to me is so much more interesting because he came back from being evil.  The Clone saga happened, but perhaps it can be redeemed today.  I think this story arc is an attempt to do that, and it was not nearly as bad as people seem to think.

  1. I agree with you that the story was not near as bad as a lot of people said but I did think the art was pretty bad this issue (especially that weird cover).  I’m glad to see another review that wasn’t completely trashing this book!
