This month's issue, or should I say this week's issue, but there is a week out of the month (maybe even two) that Amazing Spiderman doesn't come out on newstands. Wait. How about this: In the most current issue of Spiderman...
Does that sound better? Okay then. No, I am really loving how this comic book comes out almost three times a month now. It keeps you in the story, and if you run into a dissappointing installment, at least you don't have to wait an entire month for them to fix it. I am totally thinking about subscribing. You get like 36 issues for something like $48 !!! Now that would be a great deal if I could wait three weeks to get my comics!! Could you imagine walking into the local comic shop to get the latest Batman, Superman, and whatever Vertigo comic while just passing the Spiderman section because you know it's going to get sent to your house soon anyway? I tried that with Action Comics one time when I was a kid. Let's put it this way. I got two copies of every issue of Action that came out that year.
But anyway, this issue had plenty of molten melting action, but was a bit sappy and predictable at the same time. Awww!! Harry Osborn's son might start to actually love him again. Awww! Harry's exwife might consider getting back with him! Awww, Harry might put his differences with Spiderman aside for a little while. Wah wah!! (Insert tear drop here, sarcasm). Boo who?
To make a long story short: some good NJ shoveling match action with a rather predictable ending. The part when Harry asked Peter Parker if Spiderman could possibly be Parker's boyfriend was kind of funny in a cute way. No, that doesn't mean I'm gay either.
Definitely worth reading once but I wouldn't worry about having to replace the tape on the polybag when you close it though. This one is going right in the white box and isn't in any hurry to jump back out. Trust me on that note...
