  1. Well, his concern for Aunt May is classic Spidey. But I take your point. I guess I’d say I’d rather not see him doing any more damsel in distress stuff with MJ either though. One of the things I dislike about the movies is that MJ is essentially just a horror-movie scream prop for all the action sequences.

Hey! I wonder what Spidey’s brilliant plan was, if he hadn’t gotten derailed by Venom?

  2. You know, I didn’t even catch that little bit in the monologue, now I’m wondering how I missed it.  I have been a really big fan of the BND issues, but I hate when they remind me how awful OMD was.  And to screw up how their own reference works! 🙂

Also, I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one who thinks Anti-Venom is an awful, awful name.  The weak story around him isn’t helping matters any, but couldn’t they have started with a cooler name?

  3. That monologue ruined this issue for me.  It had better mean something else.

  4. I beleve a lot of ‘Heroes’ that are married and/or have living relatives go rushing off to save them. Supes has Lois/Jimmy, Hulk had Betsy/Rick, Hal has his brother and family, for a long time Robin was always in so much shit that they used to call him "The Boy Hostage", etc etc. HECK! It could be argued that EVERY Fantastic Four issue has this "stakes raising" device built in to it.

I dont know how to feel about these last 2 issues of Spidey. At the same time that I think they are kind of hokey, I find myself entertained by it, and I always find myself looking forward to seeing what will happen next.

As far as Anti-Venom goes, I am just as conflicted. My immediate reaction was "GACK!" followed by "NEAT-O!"  I mean they actually made me pull for Eddie, but is this what we really need?

I would MUCH rather see them wrap up some of these plot threads. Like the Spidey serial killer running around. Its an ok idea (and has been done before to varying degrees), but not for as many issues as they have dragged it out for.
