I hate Chris Bachalo’s art.  As a long time X-Fan I’ve always disliked it, and have hated it when he gets put on the X-books for long runs.  Yet having signed up for the thrice monthly Spidey smogesborg I wasn’t going to be skipping a few issues just because I don’t like him.  Heck no I bought the ticket, I’m taking the ride.

The thing is here I’m actually enjoying him.  He draws Spider-Man in costume really well, and it’s fun.  Logan’s good too, in or out of costume.  Granted the scenes in the DB were less to my liking, Bachalo has a thing where eventually the squishy overly cute faces he draws all start to blend into one and another, but focusing on a few key characters he actually does well.

The story continues the post One More Day goodness, throwing off one of the worst debacles in Spidey history for one of the freshest periods for the character I’ve seen in years.  This story actually gets a few extra points because I’ve been getting a bit tired of having it hammered home how much of a loser this Peter Parker is and this is a straight ahead superhero story and thus ignores the long drawn out sections about Peter needing to pay his rent.

Sometimes we just want guys in tights fighting ninjas.  Damn straight we do.
