As usual, ALL-STAR WESTERN serves up solid art and writing as Hex and Arkham finish their current adventure in New Orleans. This is a highly episodic issue, harkening back to a more anthology-like setup, as the (unsurprising) appearance of a Talon has nothing to do with the August 7, and there's still time to head back to Gotham for the introduction of Tallulah Black, who promises to be involved in future stories. And that's not even counting the last chapter of the Nighthawk & Cinnamon back-up. The tie-in with Night of the Owls is particularly tacked-on here, it seems. It works into what Hex was up to, sort of, but not in a terribly smooth way. Being more than 100 years displaced from the tie-in's titular evening makes that tricky, I suppose. I don't have much else to add on this issue. It's good, as usual. Real good.
