Pros
-Dr. Arkham ‘unhinged’ is very funny. He’s like how I act when I’m drunk now that I think about it.
-Great two page sequence of Hex falling after being thrown out the window. Moritat always has one great action sequence in him in this series and this was the highlight of the issue.
-The back up is still far superior than the main story. It’s action packed and exciting for a change in this series. It reminds me of the old Western comics you would read around the 1950s/1960s. Why this couldn’t be turned into an actual comic series I have no idea. (Oh yeah, now I know: Cause no one would buy it.)

Cons
-Still uneven with the Hex story on all levels. The pacing in the writing is poor and you never really get invested with what is going on. Moritat’s art is still looking rushed and there are some sequences I can’t tell what is going on. Doing a Jekyll & Hyde story AND an Eclipso tie-in just doesn’t scream Jonah Hex to me at all and it shows.

Summary
The back up is really the only reason I am buying this series anymore. But that is really an expensive buy for ten pages of a great comic each month. Compared to the twenty-two pages of blandness that is Jonah Hex. I have a feeling once this Tomahawk story is over I am going to stop buying this series.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 3 - Good
