The Superboy Prime story is over…I think. I don’t know what to say about it. It’s very “meta” and while some of the jokes were funny, it’s hard to see why this story needed to be told and why it broke the flow of the Johns/Manapul Superboy story we all enjoyed. I’m not sure I got the ending, either.

That being said, when I saw Superboy was the Co-Feature to this, I had no idea what to expect. Boy, was that ending a surprise! I won’t go into details but I will say it was a three-pronged shock: 1) Because of who appeared, 2) Because of what this person had on them and 3) because of the person our surprise guest ORIGINALLY came to see. That vague enough?

While I can’t say I enjoyed the Superboy-Prime story, I loved this Superboy back-up. It was short but effective.
