I don't know if any story could have lived up to all the hype that surrounded this book. As someone who doesn't read previews, pay attention to solicits, and barely notices ads, i knew this was coming months ago. As a result i was eagerly anticipating it, and now i'm left wondering if i was disappointed or just a victim of built up expectations due to hype despite the fact that i did enjoy this issue?

The story was good...an interesting study on how a sinister Lex Luthor is trying to bargain his way out of what's inevitable to us all. The classic moment was when after pontificating about how Science is the only logical belief system, he demanded an audience with God, to make a case for his own life, and his realization that even if he is dead, he'll find a way to win...something. I get the feeling we're not done with this story line yet, and Death may pop back into things down the road for good ol Lex.

I enjoyed the story and the art was good and expected quality...When you strip away everything, this issue was just two people having a conversation. I usually want a bit more than that out of my comics...especially with one that has "Action" in the title. i just think i was expecting something bigger which is always an unexpected side effect of so much hype. I'm really enjoying Luthor's run on Action Comics even if its becoming a giant character study, and i'm looking forward to the next chapters.
