i held off on reading this until i had parts 2,3, and 4 and i haver to admit i was really diapointed with this issue.  John's superman stuff in this issue was kind of weak, the strongest stuff was the more militan Kandoians who look like they will become the villains of this story, and show the dark side of New Krypton.  I especially loved the part at the begining of the issue where they fly away from a car crash, debating the validity of human lives.  Also, seeing the Luthor/ General Lane story move foreward was pretty cool, especially when Lane showed Luther he wasn't fucking around by shooting him.  Pete Wood's art here is probably his weakest ive ever seen, andthe fight the Kryptonians and and Doomsday looked very muddy and confusing, which is a damn shame from an artist who is usually very clear and detailed, made even more so by having been preceded by twelve issues or so on amazing Gary Frank artwork.
