  1. Look forward to this every sunday! Keep it up 🙂

  2. Love how you just abandon all pretense at the end and just went with the John Williams score

  3. So, Conor and Josh, I’m just curious about something: after listening to your discussion about Batman and Robin, I have to ask if the book really offers anything that Detective Comics currently doesn’t? I haven’t read it myself so I was just wondering if I should bother investing in yet another Batbook – especially when the other Dick Grayson book has been so spectacular. Never mind not living up to Morrison, does Tomassi live up to Snyder?

  4. So apparently Tomasi and Gleason are off the title by May. With Judd Winick and Gulliem March taking over for a Red Hood storyline…..Worst buzzkill ever!

(Thanks to @PraxJarvin for finding this out)

  5. Yeee, talking about the extended Star Wars universe! Man, does this take me back to high school!

  6. I totally got where Josh was going with Kings of Leon.

  7. @ohcaroline  Thank you!

  8. @TheNextChampion   I haven’t heard that news, but if it’s true, I don’t think that’s such a bad thing.  Winick is great at writing Jason Todd and I think he did a really good job of fleshing out the character in the Red Hood mini.  Now, if you don’t like the Red Hood, I can see reason for your buzzkill, but I think he was a much needed addition to the DCU and have been enjoying the character’s appearances so far.  I also have a feeling that Winick would write a better Damian than Tomasi, but we’ll see.

  9. I want a Star Wars episode.

  10. Return of the Jedi IS overrated

  11. @Josh: you’re not really missing much with The New Avengers. the book is pretty light on story and what not, just a lot of circular bendis dialogue.

  12. @lifesend: My problem with the news is that, for me anyways, Tomasi and Gleason’s first issue is so amazing. It’s everything that I want out of the book and then some. Now hearing that we’re only getting three issues and then they disappear again is just disheartening to hear. Now I also hear (again through @PraxJarvin) that they are gonna come back and it’s only because Gleason is just too busy with Brightest Day to do both books.

Now I’ll give Winick/March a shot with one issue; but I really am not a fan of Winick’s so it’s gonna be tough to consider me still reading it. March has improved a lot as an artist thanks to Azrael so hopefully that is a high point to stick around.

  13. Damn, i was going to clean house tomorrow, but now i gotta watch freaking Star Wars Trillogy again……..Thanks guys

  14. I think I’ve read more of the reference books (Essential guide to characters, Essential chronology) than the actual books.

The Thrawn books and the “Tales from…” anthologies were always sweet.

My favorite “Jedi” moment: Emperor being extra smug to Luke- “Oh, I’m afraid the deflector shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive.”

  15. @TheNextChampion  I see where you’re coming from, I just guess my response to the news is more positive because I am a fan of Winick and this latest issue of B&R, while I thought it was good, did have a couple of things that bothered me quite a bit, namely Damian’s characterization and the appearance of Man Bat.  I don’t know when it happened, but I’ve grown to dislike Man Bat.  And thinking about it some more, Batman & Robin would be a great title for superstar teams to come, do a three issue arc, and just leave.  There would be a lack of consistency, but I’m fine with that.

  16. @TheNextChampion  i think Snyder mentioned this or something like it at the live show.  Didn’t he say they were coming on and then he’ll be back and they are gonna do the James Gordon story in there somewhere?  anyone know?

  17. Daniel AH-CUN-YAH!!! Everytime you mispronounce it, a Sentry comic gets published.

  18. Oh man, I loved those Thrawn books and the X-Wing Squadron. I remember in elementary school picking up the Young Jedi Academy and using that as a gateway to the rest of the Star Wars extended universe. But I agree with Conor, in my universe Chewie never died. That’s when I stopped reading Star Wars.

I’ll definitely have to give the book of a month a shot!

  19. Black Panther: MWF is a surprise hit for me. Love it. Never read anything by Liss (his novels); he hits the mark with BP.

  20. I laughed out loud at this week’s opening music. Nice choice!

  21. I agree that Robin is mischaracterized here.

I don’t agree that you have to just deal with it.

This character has become really interesting for a tight set of traits.

“My bad”-ipod listening Damian is something else.

  22. Why no Spider-Man talk this week? It had a shocking death even.

  23. You guys are more nerdy then I thought.

  24. If the iFanboy ever wanted to spend five hours talking about Star Wars, I would listen to it and love it.

  25. ROTJ must be underrated. Everyone bitches about the Ewoks, but the guys are right: that last bit is amazing. That said, Ewoks: Caravan of Courage is the truly underrated film in the Star Wars universe.

Seriously, that spider is freaking scary.

  26. I agree ROTJ is underrated, its my favorite one of the trilogy. 1) it actually has an ending, Empire shafts you like so many movies that expect a sequal. 2) Ewoks rule! They are carnivores that try to eat the heros.  You know at the end they are actually roasting those stormtroopers, not just their helmets.

  27. AHHH!  I remember that game with IG-88.  He would just shoot purple balls at you that could kill you in about 3 seconds.

  28. oh dear; Star Wars, you’ve got me there; i can’t pretend to be all cynical about that because i absolutely love it, even the gungans… i would say the best bit is in Attack of the Clones or whatever it’s called where that robot gets confused by jedi stuff and says something like “er, hang on a minute…halt! who goes there?!”–that was fantastic!
