This is the second time i’ve bought a book just for the art. previously also an x-men book. what is with that?

I’m not joking, I want this to be talked about AT LENGTH this week. The cover is so orgasmic that it has to be the most embarrasing thing on the stands this week to buy.

I wonder why this isn’t published under the Marvel Women imprint. From the looks of the cover it’s going to portray women as strong individuals and not half-naked helpless objects with perfect bodies.
I bought it. I am not necessarily proud of that fact. But the 15 year boy in me still likee the prettee girlees.

I predict many ass shots. This cover looks like they were photoshoped from a strip club into the jungle, or in the x-men’s case teleported. Just when they were having fun being showgirls they are thrown into an adventure.

I love all of these characters, but I just couldn’t bring myself to buy this. Could it have been dignity perhaps?? just kidding!!! : )

…oh it’s Chris Claremont… now is it Crazy Claremont or Kitty Claremont? Only time will tell.
This is a reprint of a storyline from years ago that was previously only available in Europe, so it is pre-crazy Claremont. Yes, Milo Manara is about as cheesecake as it gets, but still a fantastic artist. I almost bought this, but the 4.99 price tag is a bit steep.

The art was really beautiful. The women were portrayed as one step above porn stars. If you go in knowing that, you can probably better appreciate Manara’s art. The story had its moments, but didn’t really hang together. Definite pacing problems. Still, a lot of art with beautiful women. For what it is, X-Cheesecake, it is about well done as you could hope.
