  1. I have a strange relationship with this book. Each issue leaves me unsatisfied, full of contrivances and strange characterizations, and yet when I see it’s comic out I can’t wait to grab it. I think I like the story, I just don’t like how it’s being told.

Makes no difference, of course. They’re still getting my 4 bucks!

  2. #teamCyclops

  3. Go team Wolverine only because they are rebuilding the mansion in Westchester and naming it The Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. In your face Scottie!!! Hahaha still got love for you bub.

  4. I love that cover

  5. Really been liking this so far. and Adam Kubert doesn’t hurt either.

  6. I’m looking for the wrap up here. I’ve really liked this book and may end up reading an X-book going forward. Which one is Storm in? I’m on Team Storm.

  7. #teamwolverine

    Love everything about this event!

Except…. Now because of the team books i’m going to have to pull Uncanny, New xmen, Wolverine and the xmen, Xforce AND x-men.

thats 5 pulls as opposed to the 3 (x-force, uncanny and x-men) i was making before 🙁 damn you marvel.

  8. I don’t find the characterizations in this book off at all. It feels natural to me. The only thing I don’t like is the Hellfire Tots… Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

  9. I’m not a big X-Men fan but I’m buying Wolverine, Schism, and the oncoming Wolverine and the X-Men.

    • Same with me and also not being the biggest X-men fan you should also really check out Uncanny X-Force if you havent already

  10. #teamsnikt.

Seriously, I care so little about every single mutant siding with Cyclops. Also, does anyone else get the feeling that the “X-Men” title is just going to be a giant double agent team for Wolverine? Jubilee, Warpath, Domino, and Psylocke? I have a hard time believing that of all the Mutants, they would side with cyke, especially Jubes.

  11. Can’t wait. Seriously, I’m just really psyched for this…

I love that I keep hearing people say they can’t understand how you could side with [insert Wolverine or Cyclops], that the answer to the argument is obvious, and yet there are opinions on both sides. A perfect conflict, framed with intense stakes!

  12. Loving this event. Last issue was nearly POTW for me. If only the precursor to DC’s relaunch was as good! (I’m looking at you Flaspoint…grrrrrr….)

  13. Go Team Cyclops and Go Team Wolverine. I can’t decide so I will be getting both! 😉

  14. Scott’s such a tool.

  15. I can’t wait for this tomorrow!

  16. Cyke is my fav X-man, but after the split I’m going with Wolverine, the team and concept sounds more fun. I don’t like Cykes team much.

  17. teamsnikt all the way. scotty can go fuck himself!

  18. Does anyone know if the two titles (Wolverine/Uncanny) are going to be independent of each other? What I love about the X books right now is that I can read one or two titles without feeling like I’m missing part of the story…

  19. Come on X-men, I know you can catch up to Swamp Thing! Only 400 more pulls to go!

  20. #team cyclops
This whole event was interesting to read at first but is really poorly crafted. The whole hellfire kids angle seems unnecessary but I guess we’ll have to wait for the last isssue to find out what impact they have. I have not read a lot of Aaaron so who am I to judge but I don’t think Aaaron knows how to write a team book (like Brubaker) or maybe any character well other than Wolverine. And he reuses the same theme over and over again. In his Wolverine book, Astonishing Wolverine and Spider-Man and now Wolverine and the X-Men the Phoenix Force/Jean have all appeared/appearing in all 3 books. Aaaron has some need to attach her to Wolverine like some supporting character. No Aaron. You may be a Marvel architect but leave Jean out your story’s. It’s poorly played.
Reason I’M not on team Wolverine is that I don’t like Wolverine. One of the most over exposed and over done characters in history. How does a guy go from having a healing factor to invulnerable. On a side note if the Hulk has a faster healing rate then Wolverine how does Wolverine beat him? Madness. The other reason is I know theyre tring to shake up the teams but why would Iceman, Quentin Quire, Havok, Rachel Grey and Frenzy side against Cyclops! I mean the blue team one could argue about Collosus but Kitty dumped his ass in Uncanny

  21. I want to see a pannel with Namor singing the Scotty doesn’t know song while he makes out with emma. Just sayin…..

  22. That is how a story is told! Can’t wait for Wolverine and the X-Men now!

  23. Goodbye Logan. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

  24. Loved the action scene, one of the best i’ve seen in a long time! Really enjoyed this “event” however my only gripe is that the new hellfire club being made up of small kids is slightly annoying to me.

  25. I’m pleased with how this ended, and really glad to be rid of Scott Summers.

  26. I think this was a damn tricky split to do without it seeming like an editorial mandate, but the ending flowed right out of the story. And I am giddy to see where it’s going.

  27. pretty good. issues 1-3 were ok, and i was going to drop this until i saw alan davis’s art in last issue and the story picked up(finally) as well. i like the new hellfire tots and logan’s face melting off was cool too. i have not liked xmen since the claremont-byrne/ claremont-lee eras. im going to give wolverine and the xmen a shot. schism, overall, was good. bravo

  28. The only thing that kept me from giving this 5 stars was Adam Kuberts art. So crappy…
    Stoked for regenisis now!

  29. Great! That wonderful emotional build up from last issue was basically totally fucking destroyed by Kubert shitty pencils. Fantastic

    • what was with that shitty scene when wolverine was “reacting” to something see saw on the wall.? If I haven’t seen the previews for the new story I would have no idea what that was meant to mean

  30. Kind of wish they got Davis for this issue and Kubert for issue 4.

  31. Overall I loved Schism. But does anybody remember the days when a fight had physical repercussions? Cyclops got sliced up and, while he had his arm in a sling at the end of the issue, I don’t doubt that the next time we see him he will be perfectly fine. At least Wolverine has an (admittedly ridiculously overamped) healing factor as the fallback for why he gets hurt and has no lingering effects.

  32. Boy, Kubert wasn’t in top form here, by a long stretch. I usually love both the Kuberts’ art, but this seemed very rushed.

  33. This was a pretty crummy mini with poor characterizations and the split really suffered from a lack of proper build up. It didn’t feel earned, maybe this seed should’ve been planted a little sooner in the regular Uncanny series. That being said it did have some moments I really enjoyed (the Jean scene from last issue was killer) but those didnt make the series a win overall for me. And honestly, why kids?!? It didn’t add anything to the story and they were basically written like adults anyway :S

  34. Am I the only one that thought the Hellfire club turned in to Mr Bobble Heads at the end? All of a sudden their heads were massive!

(Really liked this mini, though. Prelude seemed a little pointless.)

  35. How silly! Once I stopped expecting anything other than a motivationless story to get us to the new status quo, I had quite a good time with this. The fight between Scott and Logan that DID NOT STOP as the Sentinel was TRYING TO KILL THEM is one of the most deliciously funny things I’ve seen in comics. This is definitely Astonishing Wolvie/Spidey Aaron, but given a story that he is forced to tell, trying to squeeze some life out of it. And kudos to him, I say!

  36. I’ve really enjoyed this entire mini. Having recently jumped back into X-Men after an eight year hiatus, I couldn’t be more excited. Sure Schism had its bumps in the road (I think one artist would’ve helped the flow), and parts of it may have been stretching it a bit. But at the end of the day, it was a device built for the purpose of setting up the new status quo of the X-Verse. Something the line truly needed from what I understand. And it did just that.

What’s really fascinating is how polarizing the reaction has been. These “out-of-character” complaints are pointless. Nothing Scott or Logan did betrayed the essentials of their character makeup. You may not have liked things each of them did or said. But they did it. They said it. Because Aaron wrote it that way. The Hellfire Club is made up of bobble-headed children now. Because Aaron wrote it that way. It’s done. Get over it. Enjoy the ride. Or get off.

  37. I was way into this from issues #1-3 but the brakes began to screech on #4. I think my hope that the X-Men were returning to their glory days as the premier Marvel team and title diluted my ability to see the faulty characterization. Wolverine taking a stand against Cyclops I can buy but Wolverine doing that as the defender of morality? Absolutely not. Aaron was so interested in putting a compelling twist on this storyline that he twisted it too far. I would believe this more if Cyclops was the one defending the children and Wolverine, predictably, was the roughhouser wanting to move defense to offense. I mean, come on, has everyone overlooked the fact that Wolverine is commandeering a black ops team vis a vis Cyclops’ orders? The slasher in X-Force wants to be a junior high teacher? Hell no. And, more so, can Marvel back off a little with this guy? After squeezing him into the Avengers line-up we now have to endure him helming his own X-Men team? I say every X-man that joins his team is a punkass traitor and should lose their blue and gold priviliges permanently. And if Storm isn’t Team Cyclops than Aaron doesn’t know shit about these people and is taking us all for a walk in the park. But I won’t be there anyway because splitting up the X-Men on these grounds and giving an oversaturated Wolverine yet another title has turned me off. All burners on low.

  38. It was good… it was a transition book… I’m looking forward to what’s next more than what just happened. But I did really like Adam Kubert’s art!
