  1. I’m recently getting into X-men, and I’ve got a really light week, so this is on my list of "maybes."  I have no idea who Pixie is, so could someone explain so I maybe have a better idea what to expect from this?

  2. If you’re just getting into X-Men, you should know that the X-office has an awful habit of publishing random sub-par mini-series about characters that most fans don’t even care about. This is probably going to be one of those. I say "probably", because I don’t want to prejudge anything: there’s a slim chance that this might be good. Hey, I hope it is.

Buy whatever you want–and good luck to you–but if you’re just getting into X-Men for the first time, I’d recommend taking the $16 you would have spent on this mini-series (which is guaranteed not to matter) and buy either a collection of old classic Claremont material, or a collection of the relatively recent Joss Whedon Astonishing X-Men.

  3. Least menacing cover ever.

  4. Pixie’s cool.

  5. might get this

  6. @TNC  There might be an explosion in the background.  That could be dangerous.

  7. The preview was a lot more New York Four than I would’ve wanted.  I’ll have to give it a more in depth flip through at the store.

  8. Just a question…

Currently this has an average user rating of 9 on a 5 point scale. How does that happen? I know they usually end up correcting themselves.

    Just curious.

  9. @Slockhart

Pixie is a teenage mutant from Wales, I believe.  Her mutant powes include fairy like wings and depending on who draws her, large black pupils.  She can also douse enemies with "pixie dust" which make them hallucinate.  She also has some of the powers of the DarkChylde because Illyana stole part of her soul at one point, to regain control of Limbo. Or something like that.  🙂

  10. @AlanRob

Thanks.  I flipped through this at the store and decided I’d wait until I can get it from a dollar bin or something.

  11. HaHa!

Rockslide: "…Summer’s got me out there layin’ pipe…"

That Cyclops. Always encouraging illicit affairs to repopulate the mutant race.

  12. Take out Mercury and you got yourself a great line up. To quote Rob Briscoe (Uncanny X-cast) "who needs a character who’s power can pretty much do anything?"

  13. I totally take it back. This comic is vindicated. It looks like there are no powers involved and yet it’s really good by my tastes. Really short though so it could go either way next issue.

Ron if you’re reading this, this is as close as I get to phonogram and liking it. =)
