  1. Everyone should be reading this book if they are a fan of good comics.

  2. @Minion Agreed

  3. Another Spidey sighting. I think he might appear in every Marvel series this spring.Back front and center indeed.

  4. Top notch quality as always, though this issue was a bit heavy handed in the middle with JJJ’s soapbox moment.

  5. @comicbookchris he ain’t wrong though, they are words that need to be spoken

  6. That’s 2 weeks in a row where JJJ gets to be awesome (granted in 2 different universes)…I think it’s a sign of the end times.

  7. @mikegraham Regardless whether he is right or wrong the question is whether this is the place to say it.  To me it’s definitely not.  I understand mutants have long been paralleled with various forms of discrimination but there is a difference between subtlely working it into the story and laying it on too thick.  PAD lays it on way think.  IMHO the place for that is PAD’s blog.  Now, I agree anti-muslim hystery is blatant fear mongering propaganda and a classic example of creating an out group.  But I read X-Factor for the characters and fun stories, not that.

Anywho, I otherwise dug the issue and Emanuela Lupacchino’s art stood out, looking better than I’ve seen it so far.  Also realized I’ve been glancing over her first name and didn’t realize she was a she!

  8. Another great issue. I stand by my earlier statement.

  9. I agree with stasisbal’s assessment; also, making Monet muslim at this point just added to the over the top preachiness of this issue; if she is muslim she doesn’t take it very seriously, as evidenced by her drinking alcohol in numerous issues.  This issue read like PAD’s indictment of fox news more than a comic book.

  10. I’m sure Monet is as serious about her religion as most people are, just like your Catholics that use condoms during their pre-marital sex and Protestants that cheat on their wives *shrug*.

I liked JJJ’s statement, because he wasn’t making excuses or apologies; it was a very politically correct “Fuck You” coming from a guy who doesn’t take *anyone’s* shit. People who claim to “hate everyone equally” are usually full of shit; JJJ is the real deal, so it worked for me.

  11. @stasisbal One reason you may not have realized she was a she is the ginormous boobies she is slinging all over the place. Does she actually like that aesthetic or is she giving the people what they want? Look, I like em as much as the next guy, but don’t make them grotesque. Especially if you are just pandering to me.
