  1. Just finished THE CIRCLE a week ago and loved it, so I wanted to give this latest arc a shot. Plus, Nicola Scott. She’s not on Secret Six anymore, so I need my fix.

  2. That’s a gorgeous drawing of WW!

  3. I still think this book is not read enough.  Gail Simone continues to knock it out of the park.  JMS has his work cut out for him following her.

  4. Ooh, Nicola Scott! She’s one of my favourite artists these days so I’m tempted. Seems like a stupid point to jump on though, I was going to wait until JMS takes over and give that a shot.

  5. I was going to start reading WW in issues but my friend recently lend me his trades of Rucka’s run.

Might still pick it up when JMS begins his run though

  6. I really like Simone and Wonder Woman, but since Circle (which was a great opening story) I haven’t felt Gail put it all together for me. I just think Gail’s best writing is too irreverant for WW, or at least what DC editorial says she can do with Wonder Woman. I will be very interested to see what JMS does, as his Thor run really did capture a grandiose, mythic quality that might work well for WW. Or it might continue to overly focus on the Greek mythology when street level WW might make better stories. We’ll see.

  7. I planned on getting this arc, I love Scott and Hazelwood but just today I was thinking this one would be good trade waiting on, dont know for sure just yet but do know I want it.

  8. I feel that the stories have been hit or miss, i should reread them. Cant wait for JMS. hoping he’ll bring a wider audience and maybe  we’ll finally get that second voicemail book.

  9. second book* brain fart

  10. Decided to pick this up on a whim… there was some great art, but… the writing was all over the place quality wise. The GL segment worked really well, the villain scenes too. But Wonder Woman and Steve’s dialogue just felt… bland. And more than a little awkward. 2/5. I’ll be waiting for #600 and JMS.

  11. Yeah, I was a bit underwhelmed here. Mostly the villains were very run of the mill. Some promise in them though, as in they aren’t just one-dimensional. Still, overall it was bland. 3/5 for me.

  12. Nicola Scott joins Gail on WW!!! Oh, did we mention she only draws about 7 pages and WW is not on any of them!!!

The other guy was good, but for all they hype around Nicola drawing this book, it was a major let down.  (I do really like Nicola btw.)

  13. @JimBilly4:
Totally agree.  I have to say the best Wonder Woman stories are those that are connected to Mythology. This is why I still feel the Perez run was the greatest WW stuff I can remember.
Rucka’s run was enjoyable too with its mix of mythological ties.
Seems like Simone is coming to a close on this title . . .
