While Gail Simone is one of my favourite writers, I think Wonder Woman has been slipping a bit for a while now.  This issue was a breath of fresh air – no soap opera, no Amazonian politics.  It has a menacing enemy frighteningly depicted, Wonder Woman musing in genuinely interesting ways, and glimpses of characters being awesome.  Win.

While the art was great, I have one fundamental gripe: in no two panels does Wonder Woman have the same face.  At all.  They look like they’re all played by different actresses.
