  1. This has been pretty meh so far but I’m in it for the last two issues at this point. This might have been better if it was less issues.

    • I agree. I felt like that especially with the last issue, which everything could have been done in about half the number of pages. I love Brian Wood, but he does seem to stretch stuff out. It works for things like DMZ, but others like this and the recent Supernatural miniseries it doesn’t

    • Yeah, the story could have been condensed for sure. I’m still digging it a lot for some reason. I really like Quire, so that helps. I know the IFanDudes don’t dig Mark Brooks, but that dude gives me an art boner.

    • Yeah the art has been across the board great on this mini. It’s one of the things that has kept me hanging on. Plus Qiure is awesome. Can’t get enough of that guy!

  2. Those bulletpoints don’t seem to belong to this issue. Nice proofreading, whomever did that.

I’m reserving judgement until the end. This is one of those stories where the right ending can validate, or not, the whole thing.

    • @North72! My old Brian Woos nemesis!!

I agree about reserving judgement until the end. However, for me Wood has always been about the journey, not the ending. DMZ and Local are two of my favorite all time comics because they are so fun to read issue to issue, but in my opinion the end of both kind of missed the mark. It doesn’t mean they weren’t appropriate or that my disliking the end lessened my love for the series; it just means I don’t wait for that last issue of a Brain Wood series with bated breath. My concern with this mini is that the journey so far has only been okay and with my feelings on Wood’s previous series endings, I’m a little nervous.

P.S. – That solicit is for the main W&TXM series, must have been a mix up because they both read the same.

    • I wasn’t disagreeing with you, or even commenting on your comment. To each their own. However, I too would be nervous of anything written by a “Brian Woos”. Sounds like a wannabe.

    • I was just trying to make a joke with that first line. The rest was a serious response to your comment.

Also definitely watch out for that “Woos” guy, total pretender.

  3. Dear Lord the art during the Westchester scenes are God awful.
