  1. Been waiting for this for months. Really looking forward to it – I imagine SHOOT isn’t all that bad and shouldn’t have been banned… but still, Ellis did my favourite Constantine stuff so this is a must buy!

I kinda hope there is some Swamp Thing in this as well, although I’m not sure if there is any planned

  2. I’m with ya origamikid, been waiting for this for a LONG time as well! I’m very excited about the Vertigo Resurrected line. I’m really hoping that this lasts for a while and we get lots of the older "lost" books of Vertigo back in print. That and it would be great if Vertigo would start taking more risks and giving their writers more freedom. That and more Hellblazer is always welcome! This and the Jason Aaron/Sean Murphy story in December are what I’m looking forward to the most.

  3. 8 bucks? Vertigo is really going to milk this one for everything it’s worth.

  4. @Onic: It’s 96 pages.

  5. Damn I am really looking forward to this. Wonder what ths other stuff is? I have a feeling it’s reprints from the old vertifo anthology series like ‘weird war tales’ and ‘flinch’

  6. i’ve been waiting what feels like forever for this issue to come out. I’m SOOOOOOOOO excited.

  7. 96 pages and all that talent on one issue is a bargain.

  8. This looks really awesome… a who’s who of great writers and artists.

  9. Yeah, but what actually is in it other than Shoot?

  10. If I’m not mistaken, some of those names seem to be the same ones from the mid-90s "Vertigo Weird War Tales" book. An interesting book that features a Morrison-Quitely short very similar to Morrison’s Joe the Barbarian. So maybe that’s the padding? Might not get this this week with the hefty price tag and the # of books I’m pulling this week.

  11. Seriously a fantastic one-shot here folks. Might be the best thing I’ve read all year in terms of single issues. Every story was brilliant to read in it’s own way. Whether it was Ellis/Jimenez chilling Constantine story to Bill Willingham’s Monster movie ‘Fable’s take, to a interesting team up of Ennis/Lee…..Everything worked! The stories justify the hefty price tag and I think if you haven’t picked this up yet then you need to right now. Seriously.

    5/5 (POTW)

  12. I’m delaying stuff until next week to make room for this, sorry Turf & DC:U Halloween, you’re just not as awesome.

  13. This was unbelievably good. My comic shop guy was stunned to see it in colour, as he quite happily owns the last few pages of pencils.

  14. Really good and, after all the fuss, I think there was real sincerity and subtlety to the Ellis story.  He didn’t pull his punches and he didn’t suggest any inane solutions either, but asked that people at least not resort to all the old things to blame as it clearly never solves anything.  The short stories were old material after all but it was a nice way to gather some of the best work from those anthologies all in one place.

  15. Well worth it for Morrison and Ellis stories alone, even though the rest were all pretty good too.

  16. Dammit, my shop apparently didn’t even order this. Hope the one across town still has it, assuming I can get there in the next few days.

  17. What a great month for John Constantine. Four books and so far three have been great. Still makes me wonder what Ellis would have done with this book had he stayed on it.

  18. Apparently there is going to be 3 more Vertigo Resurrected this year.

‘The Extremist’. Which is a reprint of a four issue mini-series (never collected before) by Peter Milligan and Ted McKeever.

‘Winter’s Edge’. Another collection of stories never before collected anywhere else. Involves the talents of Gaiman, Vaughn, Ennis, Pope, Gibbons, Bond, and Phillips.

Finally a Hellblazer collection of apparently hard to find back issues. Including Hellblazer #57-58 (By Ennis and Dillon); and also, #245-246 (Aaron and Murphy).

I’m not sure if I’m gonna get the Extremist or Hellblazer reprints…..But Winter’s Edge is something I’ll definitely get. Even if it doesn’t have as many original stories as this one-shot did. The creative teams alone is more then enough to buy it.

  19. this isn’t an ongoing anthology? I want more.

  20. Here we are in the week in comics Dec 2, 2010, and I still haven’t finished this, just sitting on the bathroom floor next to my toilet, disappointing and pointless to say the least, wasted my duckets on this sadly.
