  1. That is a BEAUTIFUL cover, but so far this title has been inferior to All New X-Men. I am hoping it picks up soon.

    • I get Uncanny and All-New X-Men, and although I like the art of Immonen and Marquez, I love what Bachalo and Irving have been doing on this title. So as for story, I give the edge to All-New X-Men but I give Uncanny the nod on art

    • I agree with daddy_ak74. Really enjoying the art in Uncanny.

    • Even though All-New has been a more enjoyable read, it’s kinda unfair to compare them. All-New has (for the most part) well-established characters in a well-established setting, but Uncanny has lots of new mutants, mutants with messed up powers, and totally new direction with a foundation thats still being established. I think that’s why it has felt “slow”. There’s lots of cool stuff happening though that I’m waiting to bloom. This Irving arc started out great and I’m looking forward to the rest of it.

    • Well said theWAC1, it’s a great time to be an X-Men fan. Actually, it’s a great time to be comic book reader! Marvel NOW and Image have been killing it! No offense to DC, I do collect a few New 52 titles as well…

  2. Can’t wait! Can’t wait! Can’t wait!

    I need my Uncanny fix!

  3. Subscribed to this and ANXM.

Looking forward to reading a dozen of those and half a dozen of these later this month.

  4. So I’m a big Doctor Strange fan but haven’t been reading Uncanny X-Men. How long have they been battling Dormammu? Is he first appearing in this issue as a one off? Basically, how far back would I have to go in this arc to get it all. May wait for the trade if it’s been going on since #1.

    • He showed up last issue as a last page reveal. If you are vaguely familiar with Illayna Rasputin’s somewhat complicated past, you should be able to catch on.

      If not, the abridged version:
She’s the mutant teleporting sister of Colossus. She was kidnapped as a child by a demon lord of limbo called Belasco, She eventually killed him, and took over Limbo herself, and has been manifesting a “Darkchilde” inner demon gradually over the years. fast forward to AVX event. The Phoenix Five from AVX are all suffering changes to their mutant powers, except Illayna, who seemed unaffected, or even more in control of hers. It appears that’s not the case, and Dormammu is somehow involved. Your caught up!

    • Thanks. I’m familiar with Magik, but haven’t read much X-Men since before AvX. This was really helpful, and lets me know I really only have to go back one issue (if at all. I do like last page reveals, even when I know what’s coming).

The art in this was amazing. The story was decent. Is Bendis trying to do a Sienkiewicz-Claremont era New Mutant thing here? It’s cool.

  6. Good, solid read. Really enjoyed the art and coloring, it was stunning.

Was anyone else a bit disappointed with Dazzler being the new Agent? I suppose Bendis is going to turn her into an A-lister, like he did with Luke Cage.

  7. Good not great. Art wasnt as good as last issue, but Id round it up to a 4. The 2 page 360 deg battle scene should be a panel of the week. The beginning scene grabbed my attention, Limbo was okay, but I found myself most interested in the SHIELD stuff, and (since I’ve been Rereading lots of 80’s Uncanny) was juiced at the last page reveal. I also kinda dug the way Irving lit her up.

  8. Frazier Irving and Dazzler. What more can I ask for?

  9. “……………..and then POW! Last page reveals….. Dazzler! BUM BUM BUMMMMMM!”

(naw, but I really liked the issue. I just keep having this dream of Bendis pitching the issue like that)

  10. This was my favorite issue so far. The art was amazing. I couldn’t stop staring at the spread page of them in limbo . More please
