Frazier Irving is a god. He is sent to us by Zeus to give salvation for all the sub-par artwork in the world. It is through him that we (and the X-men) shall be redeemed! Seriously, though, I cannot talk enough about how happy I am with Irving doing a major title like Uncanny X-men. He doesn’t just provide art for this story, his work turns the book into a piece of art in and of itself. What’s so captivating, is that he does this not just using creative panache, but does so without actually detracting from the story. So many great artists do just that sometimes (I could name a few, but will defer for now), but with Irivng’s work, you are still grounded in the world of the characters you have known and loved and seen drawn thousands of times by others. Now you are just seeing them on a whole other level. Thanks, and, oh, yeah, Bendis’ story here is good as well (character driven, constantly moving, enthralling- -all that stuff). Overall, excellent, excellent work. I could read this all day.

Story: 4 - Very Good
