The world is in a state of sheer panic. The United States government has been outed as the creator of the X-Gene and mutants have been branded terrorists. It is in this insanity that the X-Men emerge.

How will these former X-Men fair in a world where they are criminals?

Will they be willing to defend mankind when all of humanity cries out for their imprisonment?

  1. Cant wait for this! Love how original this book is. It’s a great time to be a comic reader 🙂

    • I’m so happy for a new Ultimate X-Men book that does not involve Jeph Loeb. Maybe, for once in the history of Ultimate Marvel, this X-Book will be release on a regular schedule.

  2. Man I really want to buy more of this, but why the hell is it 3.99?

    • Because Marvel is raping us for our extra $1. They know most people will still buy it (i.e. me) so it’s worth it.

    • That’s the only thing keeping me from getting it. I’m voting with my money on $2.99 DC books.

That said, I’ll probably pick this up in trade eventually.

  3. Yes I hate $3.99 Marvel comics, but due to former works of Spencer and Medina I find myself willing to shell out the money for this.

This issue is amazing. The voices that Nick Spencer puts on the ‘team’ just sound right. They ring perfectly true, and Medina’s art has just been refined and refined and refined since his work on Suicide Squad issue #2. Its near perfect now.

I would recommend this comic to anybody without a moments thought.

  4. I am officially sold on this now! that last page has giddy like a school girl to get my hands on issue 3! Well done mr. spencer. Also the art on this was a blast as well.

  5. I’m still not quite sold, but it’s definitely building momentum. I’m loving the core Kitty/Bobby/Johnny team

  6. i think it has a great tone for a teen or young adult audience, yeah?

  7. Someone tell me I’m not the only one thinking Apocalypse after reading this?

  8. Wasn’t crazy about the first issue but I loved this issue.

  9. Spencer really has something great going on with his Bobby Drake and Johnny Storm. Johnny dropping the line near the end about Bobby dating a crazy girl was perfect. Fantastic issue.
