  1. Apparently MAY-HEM isn’t fooling this website.

  2. @TNC  fooling?

  3. I’ll check this out just becuase I’m amazed at how great Tyrese Gibson and his PR guys must be. I didn’t know who he was or what this book was about until very recently, but all the hype is pretty overwhelming. Hopefully this will live up to it.

Surprised by the low number of pulls, though.

  4. MAY-HEM!

  5. @conor I’m pumped as well sir

  6. Who the heck is Tyrese Gibson?

  7. @cromulent   on the off chance you’re not joking   http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0879085/

  8. You’ve never heard of Tyrese? I mean, I’m not a fan of contemporary R&B or shitty movies (most of ’em anyway) and I know who he is.

He’s announced to play Luke Cage in the self titled movie, which I frankly think is a mistake. Not necessarily in casting (though I see Cage as a bigger guy, physically) but I don’t think it should be a solo movie.
Team him up with Iron Fist, spin the origins to be a little easier to swallow for an (UGH I hate marketing terms, especially vaguely racist ones, but) ‘urban’ market, and make it as gritty and serious as Dark Knight (even though I fear a slew of characters who don’t fit that role being given that treatment after TDK’s success). Maybe even put Jessica Jones in it, and hell bring some outside conflict over their being a mixed race couple to show those who still think comics are silly that even funny books & their inspired movies can tackle issues as important as that (I know we all like to think that we as a society are beyond such biggotry, but I live a stone’s throw from NYC and my friend’s brother thinks him some kind of ‘race traitor’ for dating a Columbian girl). Put a sprinkle of Bendis on it and that’s a movie I’d love to see.

    A) Where the hell did that tangent come from?
    B) I hope I didn’t just pitch something that becomes 48 Hours with Poweman & Iron Fist in the Murphy/Nolte roles.

  9. Eh…this felt very average to me. The writing was above average, but I wasn’t a fan of the art. I had a hard time following a few of the pages, but other than that everything flowed pretty okay. The reveal at the end was neat, but nothing really grabbed me here. I’ll check out the next one, though. 2/5.

  10. I remember when people said kickass was violent, but to me that felt like a satire.

This was just violent and brutal, and i guess that was supposed to make it cool?

Too bad, the art wasn’t half bad, but this "story" is a zero.

  11. I’m totally buying this just because of all the "MayHEM!"’s in the last POW podcast. Laughed my ass off at that.

  12. "My knives are silent…
They don’t see them coming…-MAYHEM!!" (that’s right the knives scream mayhem)

    XD

Btw Page 7….. looks like an art student drew it. =/ I’m referring to the guns…
