Some moments define a god. Some define evil. Some define both. Mjolnir lies shattered, the blood of a god splattered upon the many shards strewn around Thor’s feet. With his half-brother in exile and without the power of his greatest weapon, Loki’s gambit has come down to this: merging the fate of Asgard with Doctor Doom’s Latveria. The master plan in the making for two years culminates in the defining moments of two of Marvel’s most vile villains, as Loki and Doom unite for an act of unspeakable evil you’ll have to see to believe!

  1. saw that a HC like ‘omnibus’ will be released for JMS’s Thor run a-la Fraction’s Iron Man run and will wait for that…

  2. I really was debating on picking up the "omnibus" of JMS’ run on Thor, but I am going to keep it in the TPBs that I have been collecting.  My question is why was this released after the opening arc of the Gillen arc.  I understand that it may make it easier to sell the omnibus if people are wondering where this volume was at, but to not release the tpb in sequence like they have done for the rest of the modern runs really confuses me as a buyer.

  3. @forestjwp – You know, I had the same discussion with my LCS owner.  I think it’s because this volume of Thor was originally in hardcover, about 4 months ago is Marvel’s norm, and the Gillen one was not.  Why someone didn’t change it just to make it less confusing, I don’t know.  It does happen from time to time.  DC is worse because they wait a year before releasing the paperback if the HC is released.  Frankly, you need to read Gillen’s trade there to finish what Straczynski started as far as I know, as I’ve read Gillen’s but I won’t be reading this volume until I pick it up Wednesday.
