THE UNWRITTEN #31

The game-changing, twice-monthly epic called “Tommy Taylor and the War of Words” begins now!

Tom Taylor goes to war against the cabal that has tormented, imprisoned and tried to destroy him – and it’s far more than just a war of words! To have a hope of winning, Tom must use every weapon he can get hold of, but even storybook magic carries its own risks. And for a story unlike any you’ve ever seen, one issue a month isn’t enough!

In the special, standalone .5 issues, Tom’s crusade plays out against the backdrop of the cabal’s sinister secret history and delves deep into the dark past of some of the series’ major players. When it’s all over, “very little will remain Unwritten.”

  1. Here We Go! This sounds like the start of something awesome. Carey and Gross have done a great job with this series so far, I am interested to see where this War of Words takes us. Judging by the cover, my guess is Canada.

  2. I love this comic so much. It’s been one of my favourite since issue #1.

  3. Both this and Sweet Tooth are heating up and starting to pay off a lot of setup around the same time. It’s pretty glorious.

I mostly can’t wait until the dude that’s stuck as a story book rabbit turns up in the lead story.

  4. Man, I need to hurry up and read the last 4 issues that have come out. So behind and shit’s about to get crazy.

  5. I want to see what all this 0.5 nonsense is about. On the heels of the irritating Marvel 0.1 issues, it immediately gets my hackles up. I suspect it will be elegantly done, like so much of this series, but I am withholding judgement as to whether it is actually necessary, as opposed to just continuing the numbering like normal.

    • It’s really not a whole lot different from American Vampire doing the Survival of the Fittest mini to compliment the Ghost War arc. Similar yet different arc that ultimately shed light on the larger story.

  6. Great start to the war. The pages in the Oxford camera were so Awesome! It was cool to see Tom go for it with the spells he’s learning. I can’t wait for the .5!
