THE SPIRIT #9

The Spirit knew there was something suspicious about the relationship of mafia heir Ophelia Ottoman and no-good loser Jimmy Bauhaus, but he didn’t know that the secret they kept could pit Central City’s crime families against each other! But that doesn’t mean he’s going to let Ottoman get away with murder… does it? Say it ain’t so, Spirit!

And in the co-feature, THE SPIRIT: BLACK & WHITE, Paul Dini and Mike Ploog have a holiday gift for you: the tale of an extremely bad Santa – a crook haunted by the Spirit of Christmas everywhere he turns!

  1. people are missing out on this.

  2. yes, this is a very solid book.

  3. Is this a good comic? I’ve heard a lot of great things about it. Especially with the back up drawn by Moritat.

  4. @TheNextChampion  Great book!  Although, I found that it reads a little better in story-arc chunks.  The art is great and the back-ups keep it interesting.  Moritat/hine are on the main story, while the back-ups change from issue to issue.

  5. @TheNextChampion  Last issue started a new story. I find this story to be better than the prior one. They do tie in together, but only loosely. I have a lot of space war, time traveling, huge stories on my list at the moment, so it is nice to cuddle up by a nice open fire, my coco in one hand and The Spirit in the other. The Spirit is my mellow read, where I can sit back and play a simple detective trying to crack the case. The art is phenomenal. Ophelia is drawn so beautiful and sexy that I find myself questioning myself why I am so attracted to a drawing. But hey it could be worse, the pages could be sticky after a good read. The Spirit and David Hine is a perfect match. Give it a try.
