  1. Finally this is out, HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Oh thank Christ, the week is saved!

  3. These covers, along with Hawkeye, are the best covers on the stands.

The stuff inside is super duper as well.

    • Couldn’t agree more.

    • I wonder if the covers are going to get progressively more complex as we move forward. The simplicity of the designs are part of what I love about them, but with Hickman’s background in advertising and graphic design, it’ll be interesting to see the basic concept evolve as the series continues.

  4. I’ve been waiting to see this cover since it was solicited, can’t wait to hold it in my hands. Glad this story is back too, I’m really enjoying the history through the looking glass that Hickman and Pitarra are crafting.

  5. Hell yeah! One of just a few titles I can’t to read each time they come out (This, Saga, LDB, Earth 2, odd mix I know).

So stoked, give me something to look forward to in this stressful week of huge projects. Group projects = fail.

  6. FINALLY!

Where the hell has this been?

    • Speaking of, where in the blue hell is Secret?

    • No Kidding, only two issues, what happened??

    • I think Marvel NOW! happened with three Avengers comics a month, plus this with this & the odd delay, plus more projects with image next year We’ll be lucky if another issue is it out by the end of the year. I mean look at S.H.I.E.L.D. still waiting on that as well!

    • There haven’t been any public statements I can find regarding the delay of Secret, so it’s not really fair of us to speculate with any degree of certainty, but when Hickman and Bodenheim collaborated on A Red Mass For Mars it took two years to publish four issues.

That could be due to a lot of good reasons, and this situation could be entirely different. I’m just saying that a delayed book from Hickman/Bodenheim is not without precedent.

    • Anyone know if Secret is an ongoing or mini? I thought ongoing but based on the delay I can’t imagine how it could be.

    • I think Hickman is waiting for Bodenheim to finish. Cause I did tweet to him, asking politely, about what was going on with Secret and he said ‘I’m still waiting on that so I have no idea. Maybe that answer doesn’t put any blame on Bodenheim but it doesn’t sound like it has anything to do with himself.

  7. Damn, I forgot all about S.H.I.E.L.D. I put that away thinking that it ended. Secret is a great book with a fresh concept and has a little noir in it.

I do really love this book. It’s campy and crazy.

  8. I read that Hickman will address Secret #3’s delay in a letter published in this issue of Manhattan Projects.

Our speculation is probably right, though. I mean: Avengers double-shipping, New Avengers, Manhattan Projects and the upcoming Feel Better New and the upcoming East of West. The guy has a lot on his plate and Secret seems like the likeliest book to get put on hold…Again, might be wrong. We’ll see tomorrow.

I remember reading that S.H.I.E.L.D. was put on hold for that reason. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I personally don’t mind. The guy’s a genius and it’s not like we have a shortage of stuff to sink our teeth in.

  9. And — did they change the cover? I remember this solicited as the white stripes on white.

  10. Another fucking awesome issue, my POTW!!!!!!!

  11. Hah this is one ridiculous comic. Orgy panel is classic. Best book going, until Locke and Key comes back.

  12. is this comic as confusing as fantastic four?
hickman is great, but sometimes he makes me feel super stupid.
i want to get it, but i don’t want to be all confused.
i loved the saga trade paperback, and want to give this a shot too since it’s also universally loved.

  13. Another great issue. Things are really starting to take shape. That last panel with FDR:AI was pretty ominous. Looks like it’s going to be MP vs. US Government. Appropriate on election week.

The letter in the back was a classy move. I love Pitarra’s work on this book, but I don’t mind a fill-in here and there if it means we get the goods on time. Hickman makes no mention of #8 though, and that makes me nervous. We shall see.

  14. I love this book but am slightly confused with the alternate realities (mostly due to the 3 month break between issues). The issue with 2 Einstein was pretty straight forward with the coloring but now its throwing me off. Was this one reality the whole time? Is it Evil Einstein we are seeing?
