  1. The last two issues of Amazing won me over, so I figure any issue not loaded with guest stars I’ll check out, plus I always was a fan of morbius

  2. I’ve not bought a spidey book since the 90s..but morbius man, morbius…tempting.

    • ASM is really good right now. A solidly dependable 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars, issue after issue. Twice a month.

Some great artists, too. I really dig both Caselli and Ramos, among others.

So, it’s pricey but it’s good.

  3. Does anyone know if this will stay at 2.99, or is it going back to 3.99 after this .1 issue?

  4. What’s up with the cover? Is that Spidey in front of a bluescreen?

  5. I have been really enjoying ASM for a while. I really enjoyed BND and Big Time has been great fun as well. Good time to be a Spidey fan IMHO.

    • It really is. I got back on board with Big Time, and I can’t wait to go all the way back to issue #600 and read a big pile of it.

  6. I subscribe to ASM and get it really cheaply and I’m still gonna pick up this point one and pay nearly retail, because Dan Slott is just that good.

  7. Here is my trick to get dirt cheap amazing spider-man issues. i use fatwallet.com or ebates (rebate sites) and go through them to magazines.com. They give about 26% cash back, but throughout the year it jumps to 35-52% cash back. I got my 36 issues subscription for 30 bucks.

I currently get 17 mail subscriptions both marvel and dc and i pay about $1 an issue (even the 3.99 titles)

now you know and knowing is half the battle.

    • Hopefully people pay attention to this, and it puts a dent in this BAAAHHH MARVEL IS GREEDY WITH THEIR $4.00 BOOKS idiocy.

Somehow I doubt it, because people just like to bitch.

    • does it come in on wednesdays?
      and is it reliable?

if so, sweet. good for you.
      30 issues is too much.
i just have a commitment problem.

(lol at reason for being alone on valentine’s day)

    • thehangman: My Marvel subscriptions usually arrive around a week to ten days after the street date, once the first issue of the subscription has been shipped. That first issue takes 4 to 8 weeks.

And yes, they are very reliable. Out of around a dozen subscriptions that I’ve been getting for over a year now, they mess up very rarely, they are very polite about it, and the subscriptions are even cheaper the second year.

12 issues cost less than 20 bucks, by year two.

      It’s like a 40 percent savings on a $2.99 book and a 65% savings on a $3.99 book if I’m remembering the math correctly.

Amazing Spider-Man costs less than a buck-fifty an issue if you buy 36 issues.

A big commitment, but a pretty good value. In your mailbox. Twice a month.

Think of it as a cheap date that will come over to your place.

I’d call that a satisfying relationship.

  8. Comixology is trying to charge me $3.99 for this. Not cool. Hopefully they rectify it by the end of the day.

  9. Please can we make it through one vampire-related story without someone referencing Twilight. Thank Vertigo for American Vampire.

Apart from one shoe horned pop culture reference this was an okay issue, not sure how new reader friendly it is as it refers to a lot of Spider-Island, and resolves a long running mystery, but at the same time it also sets up a new story with an old bad guy, whose about to get a lot of attention.

    • I picked up this issue and I am a new reader. (but definetly a hardcore comics fan who at least knows who Morbius is and am aware that there was an event recently called “Spider Island”)

I was only a little lost, but not enough that I couldn’t figure out what I needed to know through the story. Apparently the Spider Island story gave a bunch of people Spidey powers. (not sure how onboard i am with that concept, but whatever, i didn’t read it so I wont judge) – Over all I thought the issue was ok, the final page definetly made me interested in taking a look at the next issue though.

    • All the Spider-Island powers got resolved when Reed and Peter made a cure so nobody else has spider powers anymore if that helps you at all. Glad to see this issue might have gotten someone else on board.

  10. Meh, normally I’m okay with these .1 issues but this didn’t do it for me at all. Let’s get back on track with #680 please.

  11. Morbius just does not intrest me as a character and that is why I only gave this a 2, seemed like a waste of an issue compared to the last few months which have been great. I am not concerned so much since this was a .1 issue?? What the hell is that anyway and why is Marvel soing this more and more? Oh well; next issue will be better I am sure and like every title there are good issues and once in awhile a stinker.
