SWEET TOOTH #18

After the explosive conclusion of “Animal Armies,” Jepperd and his new traveling companions begin a long trek north in search of answers in this stand-alone issue. But as the first snowfall of the year hits, mistrust and fear threaten to tear the group apart before they even get started!

This story will be presented in a special, horizontal storytelling format.

  1. Horizontal Storytelling? Wha!?

  2. There’s a preview on Lemire’s blog: http://jefflemire.blogspot.com/2011/01/preview-sweet-tooth-18-out-wednesday.html

Looks unusual! But Lemire is so excellent, every issue is golden. Looking forward to this!

  3. Last time I saw that was the New X-men Annual by Morrison.

  4. Can.not.wait!

  5. I think I’m over this book, and even more shockingly, Lemire as a whole. I may revisit this series in trade once it’s complete, but after this I’m done with the issues (I pre-order)

  6. I’m excited again, now that we’ve FINALLY moved away from the Preserve, etc.

  7. @Zeppo  The “choose your own adventure” issue of Unwritten was horizontal also.

  8. Great issue. At first I was worried it was just a previously on Sweet Tooth in 3rd person, but once it got to the mall the story was great.

I love this cast, it reminds me of early Walking Dead, I am on the edge of my seat thinking anything can happen at any minute.

  9. I’m still waiting for the issue where Gus has to deal with early onset of type 2 diabetes.

  10. @Zeppo Marvel Vision! I find right when I’m on the verge of forgetting about it, some book uses it.

  11. My POTW for being a real good take on children storybooks. It reminded me a lot of the Golden Books I used to read and the art helped with that visual too. The horizontal storytelling was also used pretty well even though the ads kinds ruined the flow at points. Great issue all around and it really proves how unique this is from the rest of the comic world. (That and Chew of course)

    5/5 (POTW)

  12. Kinda uncomfortable to read horizontally. Great Art, but I thought nothing (much) happened.

  13. Sweet, love it when a Vertigo book wins pick of the week among the iFanboy community.

  14. This was amazing.
