  1. I’m very interested in seeing Dick interact with Clark.  I don’t know how often we’ve seen them as "equals", but I find the concept promising.

  2. ever since i heard what the story would be about i’ve been waiting for this issue

  3. Shocked this was never addressed even slightly once Final Crisis ended. I might actually try this out if shop has extra copies.

  4. Great issue. The best Superman/Batman in a long time. I’ve been waiting to see this one since FC. Say what you will about Winick, but the guy gets the Bat family. He also excels at dialog-heavy issues. Excellent pacing in this one. Winick’s voice for Clark was spot on, and it was exactly how I’d imagine he’d deal with Bruce’s death.

The first scene with Grayson Batman was awesome! "You really think you have something in there that can stop me?" Fantastic. Love the scene with Clark and Lois before the funeral too. The "No uniforms" line hit me where it counts. The pages with Superman and Wonder Woman on the roof were moving too.

I can’t remember seeing Rudy’s work before, but I was really impressed by his panel layouts here. Some nice choice of color too. All around a really solid issue. My only nitpick would be that I wished this had come out a year ago, but oh well. Better late than never. Who’d of thought that an issue of Superman/Batman would be in the running for my POTW? The world is full of surprises.

  5. Wow! This issue was excellent. Mr. Winick surprised me.

  6. is winick on this more then one issue?

  7. This was really close to being my POTW too. I am so shocked at how amazing this issue read. Then again Winick has always been known to pull at your heart…..whether it be from real life grief experience or doing another issue of Green Arrow. All of this though was great; from Sups zoning out Dr. Midnite, to him getting extremely pissed at Grayson, and that scene with Wonder Woman as well. Rudy’s artwork was pretty good too; had a JH Williams III vibe going for it. Although some of the faces looked really fugly in this (especially for Tim and Grayson) Hence that is why it isn’t fully my POTW, but it is damn well close.

    5/5

  8. "But what you’re doing is grotesque. You knew him better than anyone, better than me. And you know … his disguise was Bruce Wayne. He *was* Batman. You’re parading around in his skin."

    Couldn’t agree more, Supes.

  9. LOVED this issue!

  10. ehh this story is pretty much winicks 1st story when we started his batman run but with bad art and medicore story

  11. This was awesome. This story needed to be told during FC. Hell, Sue Dibny’s had more of this type of stories told and she was a B-lister at best. This was the best single-issue story I’ve read since The Brave and The Bold #33.

  12. One of the best comics I’ve read in a while. Just fantastic. Captured their relationship so brilliant.
