As has been said everywhere, the art here is truly lovely. The dialogue is definitely fairy tale-esque, and once past the half-way point, there are some real payoffs in story. Some things in the story came unexpectedly. I think I’ll be around for part two.
The clerks at the store — Laughing Ogre in Columbus, OH — pointed this out to me. Absolutely amazing artwork. They only had their preview copy left but had more on the way. Can’t wait to read it.
I knew nothing of this book until I saw this at my local comic shop. They had it as their pick of the week. Wouldn’t have bought it otherwise… Can’t wait to read it.
Picking this up because of a recommendation from C B Cebulski on Twitter, really looking forward to it now.
The art is truly wonderful, the way they have the sepia tones to make it look like it is from the 1940’s is truly brilliant.
The story is very imaginative, I find the Pig and Jester particularly interesting. I have no idea where this is going, but am enjoying the ride.
Definitely sign me up for issue #2!
Picked this up after reading it on Rich Johnson’s site. Only read half of it so far, but really glad I gave it a shot. It’s beautiful stuff. I can see my wife’s sisters enjoying this
