  1. Scalped, I love you. Even though you beat me up.

  2. A friend of mine lent me the whole run, and I read it this weekend. How in the name of all that is good in this world have I slept on this book all these years? So. So. Incredible. I am happy to be on board with this!

I don’t read any of his Marvel books. Are they anywhere near this good? Which ones would you folks suggest?

  3. @Hail – Welcome.  I would go so far as to argue its a toss-up between Scalped and Fables for best Vertigo book.  As for Aaron’s Marvel stuff I haven’t read anything personally but the reviews on PunisherMax, Astonishing Spider-Man/Wolverine and his other Wolverine work are mostly favorable.  Scalped is his masterpiece though.  Also check out The Other Side.  It was a standalone piece on the Vietnam War put out by Vertigo that I believe was his first full-length published comic book work.

  4. the Punisher Max stuff is rediculously bad ass.  I hear his Ghostrider is good along with his Wolverine Weapon X (ive got the Wolverine trade comping in the mail)
  5. One of the next Vertigo 7.99 books is going to reprint a two issue Hellblazer story he did with Sean Murphy which is really good. I’ve heard good things about his Wolverine run but I cannot stand that character so I have not read it.

  6. Ghost Rider is pretty cool. Lost of fun craziness. Wolverine is the best Wolverine solo book I’ve read in years. Astonishing Spider-man & Wolverine is been great and makes me wish it was an ongoing. The Other Side is a fantastic Vietnam story along the lines of Full Metal Jacket. But this is by far the best thing he’s ever written.

  7. This book is so singularly fantastic.  To be honest, non of his Marvel stuff even compares to this book, but Punisher and Astonishing Spider-Man/Wolverine are both really solid titles.

  8. This was an incredible issue, even by the high standard Aaron has set.  Who didn’t rate this a 5, and what kind of awful, hateful drugs were they smoking when they clicked "4"?  Pick of the week, hands-down.

  9. I think if you go back, every issue of this has been my POW… except maybe when Guerra was on break. @ mike, that’s funny. f’d up, but funny.

  10. Just got back from a long holiday and read the last two issues back to back…both 5s, both Picks, both beautiful.
