  1. I’m rooting for the couple, but I really like The Will too. Can’t I have it both ways?

  2. I’m happy to see the Stalk is back.

  3. Warning: Don’t look at previews …

  4. If the male sexiness on this cover is indicative of what happens in most issues of SAGA, then perhaps I will give it another try?

  5. Dropped. I’ll read it in trade instead…

    • wow

    • You may get more enjoyment out of reading 5/6 issues in one sitting!

    • I tried holding out for trade and couldn’t do it. I love BKV so I don’t mind. But trade is lots cheaper …

    • Exactly. I think Saga should be read in one sitting for the entire arc. Also had to cut on my monthlies, was pulling for 100$ of comics each month, some I couldn’t drop, others I chose to trade-wait, this included! 😉

    • Avatar photo PymSlap (@alaska_nebraska) says:

Don’t trade wait, because the trades won’t have the “To Be Continued” Letters Page, and it’s amazing. It features a costume contest, and it’s fun to hear from people who unabashedly love this team.

    • That’s mainly what I don’t like… waiting month after month to finish up a story-arc. I read so much comics I lose what happened before and lose interest. Reading these kinds of book in one sitting accentuate the experience in my opinion! 😉

To each their own way of appreciating a comic book I guess.

    • How can you trade wait what is most likely the best comic going right now…

  6. Another amazing issue I will presume, my only problem is whenever I read an issue it’s over so quick & I always feel like reading it again in case I miss something.

  7. Well, I just got my pin from the Hugo’s. And the first thing I did was go and add Fiona Staples to my nominee list for best professional artist. I think she is very deserving, and qualified for this in the area of Sci-Fi and fantasy. I’d encourage others that are eligible to nominate to do the same. I submitted a link to her tumbler image of issue 8’s cover as an example of her work. Now I just have to figure out who I want to nominate for the rest of the awards.

I have commented on this before, but I thought it was an appropriate place to do so again.

  8. Finally getting really invested with this series after so many issues. Hopefully the pace is going to keep going strong here.

  9. Yes! Finally we get another issue focusing on The Will!

  10. And this is why this book is so amazing. Gwendolyn become a wholly lovable & authentic character in the span of something like 3 pages. Words & art 5/5.

  11. ***********************SPOILERS********************* That dream sequences was a heart breaker. Solid issue.

  12. Sorry, Batman, but it ain’t a sword. It’s a lance.

    POTW

  13. This is my favorite issue of this current arc. I wish BKV and Fiona Staples could do a spin off series about the Will and Lying Cat. That and I don’t think this needs to be said but Brian K Vaughn is so good at writing women it’s pretty astonishing that he’s actually a man. I don’t know how he does it but I wish this guy was my friend prior to meeting my wife so I could have had him to give me dating tips.

  14. BKV and Kieron Gillen write strong female characters.

  15. Great issue. Some funny stuff here. From Mama Sun’s guards to the Mole People this certainly has some interesting visuals. And I wasn’t expecting to like Gwendolyn. Saga is always full of surprises. Like the assassin who has a heart and tries to help the little prostitute.

  16. Great issue. It goes from serious and exhilarating to goofball nonsense on a dime. That beginning sequence was tricksy though. We’ve been punked!

  17. POTW… This was great. “Got to love the Saga.”

  18. Love Lying Cat’s expression when she calls out The Will for lying about costs…

  19. Another Awesome Issue! Lying Cat is wonderful….the subtle expressions that Staples’ gives to the character is fantastic. Gwendolyn’s question to The Will as Lying Cat stares at them is great, because Lying Cat does NOT say “lying”. It shows an authentic, complicated, and sometimes comical relationship between the two.

    My POTW

  20. What can I say that isn’t said about million times a month about Saga?
“IT SUCKS!” But, that isn’t true, so I got nothing.

  21. The panel with Slave Girl and Lying Cat sleeping was the most endearing thing I’ve seen in a long time.
