  1. This is a book I really want to read, but I missed out on the first series. Should I go back and get the trades before starting this series?

  2. Yeah, Hickman planned S.H.I.E.L.D. as a 12-issue series, then Marvel decided to chop it into two 6-issue minis. This current issue is basically issue #8, and Vol. 2 #1 was not a good jumping on point. You definitely need to read the first 6-issue mini before reading Vol 2.

  3. @froggulper I thought i read somewhere that this series would be something like 60 issues

  4. Let’s hope the ball gets rolling with this series, finally. A lot of ‘twists’ and backstory with no real payoff yet.

  5. I’ve really enjoyed this series but the delay between issues has made it hard to follow at times. I should just buy the trades but I can’t help but buy the issues as well.

  6. Yea I read it was 60 issues also. Where did you hear it was only 12?

  7. Don’t buy the Vol 1 trade … buy the hard cover …

  8. Hickman has said that he planned this to be a 12 issue seres from the start. Y’all are thinking of his original plans for the recently completed Secret Wariors.

  9. ^Yep!

I WISH S.H.I.E.L.D. was going to be 60 issues…but then again that would take TEN YEARS to come out!

Hope there’s some forward momentum with this issue, though. I enjoy all of the backstory, but things need to move more than they have.

  10. Well it’s official. Not only do I have no idea what is going on in this series, I seriously question whether Hickman does either. This book just goes in places that don’t make much sense and I care very little about Leonid or anyone else for that matter. That art is gorgeous though, the only redeeming quality.

    3/5

  11. @TheNextChampion  I knew exactly what was going on and Hickman blew my mind again. Good lord I love this.

  12. this was a great story, seems to be moving with a fast pace now too

  13. I’m pretty sure your wrong. I’m almost positive this is planned for 60 issues. Secret Warriors was planned for 32 issues I think, not 60.
