RESIDENT ALIEN #1

A stranded alien seeks refuge in the small town of Patience, USA, where he hides undercover as a semiretired doctor, masking his appearance using his unique mental abilities. Now known as Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, all the alien wants is to be left alone until he’s rescued. However, when the town’s real doctor dies, “Dr. Harry” is pulled into medical service—and also finds himself smack dab in the middle of a murder mystery! He’d rather be fishing. Acclaimed creators Peter Hogan (2000 AD, Tom Strong) and Steve Parkhouse (The Milkman Murders, Doctor Who) deliver a truly unique sci-fi adventure tale!

  1. Easily my most anticipated book of the week! I had been raving about this from when it dropped in Dark Horse Presents, I can’t wait to see how they execute! It reminds me of a great old time comic, a solid Twilight Zone premise, and a fun story all rolled into one.

  2. I also thought this was really well done. Great characters, a mystery, and fantastic art. This has started out like it has the makings of my next favorite comic.

  3. Haven’t heard of this but it’s a fun premise. I’ll give it a try.

    • I’d recommend finding the 0 issue first, it really sets up the whole premise. They should have just made it a #1 instead.

    • Yeah… you were right. This didn’t work that well as a #1.

    • It actually came from a short in Dark Horse Presents, the #0 issue was just a reprint of that in its own book which is why I think they went with the #0 issue approach. It is an excellent story so far and I really hope this can continue on and it seems like some groundwork is laid to be able to in this issue which has my hopes up!

  4. I loved #0! I have been eagerly awaiting this for months now, and I can’t wait to see how the story progresses! I love the smallness of the story.

  5. Very tricky, Dark Horse…I grabbed #1 on a whim only to open it and see that the story began in #0…their website has it for 1.99 so I grabbed it digitally. Dark Horse is really coming up the ranks on my pull list! Another awesome offering.

    • I know right? I did the same, and when I got home and opened to the 1st page, I saw issue #0 and put It down, gotta pick it up when my shop opens
