  1. Also in my top 5 of comic books out right now, come on Wednesday!!

    • Top 5 comics for sure right now. Can’t wait to see how jason deals with these Crazy Owl assassins.

    • No doubt on seeing how Jason will deal with these Talon bastards and the Court of Owls. Although I think the Talons maybe be in way over their heads with the power of Starfire with him they are way out gunned and out powered. She could fry them all up in one small package and this whole thing would be over in one issue or one night!!

    • I dunno……. Mr.Freeze might have a thing or two to say to Starfire.

  2. Avatar photo tripleneck (@tripleneck) says:

OK, now that we’ve got that tie-in issue out of the way, I’m ready for some outer space sci fi action featuring lots of face time for Kori.

    • Seriously, it’s like the hubbub over her sexiness in issue one led the editors to say “make her less of a main character!” or something. She’s faded into the background lately.

  3. This was my first Red Hood issue, and I loved it. I may have to find the back issues. Great tie in.

  4. Diggin’ this book. It’s heavy on text, and very detail oriented in the art. Makes for a denser read than a lot of comics on the shelf today. At a certain point this issue I thought, “One of these Talons needs to be turned and become a hero in the New 52”. The Talon in this book has a great design (my favorite so far), and I get the feeling we’ll be seeing him again.

  5. THIS POST CONTAINS NIGHT OF THE OWLS SPOILERS!!!!

Okay so in Batman 8 and 9 Batman freezes the batcave because cold stops talons. This is key, COLD STOPS TALONS>

In Birds of Prey they lock theres in a freezer car.

But Mr. Freeze needs protection? A man who’s core body temperature is so low that it could presumably stop a talon if he touched it. A man that has a giant freezing gun and can freeze an entire district of Gotham in less than one night, cannot blast one talon? I didn’t buy this at all. I liked the characters (first Red Hood book) and the dialogue was good, but the premise just didn’t seem in line with Night of the Owls.

    • Very good point. Maybe they’ll be touching on this in the stories to come? You’d think something like this wouldn’t get by the creative teams, but we’ll see.

  6. I had not read Red Hood and the Outlaws before, but thanks to issue #9 I am curious enough to pick up previous issues. This does not mean I am encouraging the indiscriminated production of tie-ins to big events; I am only saying in that in this one particular case, it happened to be a happy accident.

  7. I gave this issue a 5 and a soft 5 at that. The only reason I say soft is because the whole Mr. Freeze thing is kinda of upsetting me, I see I am not the only one that sees a whole in some of the ground work that has been layed down as far as stopping the Talons. Mr. Freeze should have easily taken this guy out and even in his own lab the Talon should not have been able to even function. Other than that large piece of dung, the rest of the issue was so well drawn and the details in the backgrounds were cool and Starfire vs Mr. F that was a fun fight sequence all be it short, but fun.
