I was trying to figure out why this series has not clicked with me in the past and why the end of the last issue brought me into this one. The Red Hood needs to be in Gotham, the ying to batmans yang. He is really the punisher of the batman family and one that needs to get reined in and do what the batman family members do not. The outlaws are really window dressing and do not add a whole bunch to this story where the true character moments come from Jason Todd's interaction with freeze and the talon. The talon showing Jason that the court of owls could not take his soul in his reincarnation is an interesting plot point and sparks resonance with the red hood and one that I hope Lobdell will explore. I have to admit my sole reason for picking this up was the court of owls banner, but it led to a well crafted story. I just can do with out starfire and red arrow and inspite of them I make it my pick of the week.
