I’m getting this just for the halibut.
PHILIP BOND!
I liked the art and I may give the premise a chance, but this is the second book this week ("The Marvels Project" being the other) that was hurt by distracting/confusing/unnecessary narration.
@ohcaroline couldn’t agree less – I left the narration built the interest within the story – a typical first issue in as much as things are still murky and as the story develops in coming issues all will be revealed. I’m sure we agree it’s worth sticking with it for Bond’s artwork alone…
This was a satisfying read, a bunch of story with several interesting plot lines started. Philip Bond is the cherry on top of this sundae.
Yeah, I like this a lot, the art was really really nice & the characters seemed "real" & 3 dimensional & the story left me wanting MORE.
This fell flat with me, probably because the central focus of the book, the MacGuffin character, just seemed like an uninteresting and crappy person. I could conceive of the rest of the story developing around her becoming more interesting, but I’m not sure I’m going to bother picking up issue #2 to find out.
