  1. I’m excited for more Victor Gischler in the Marvel Universe.  HIs Punisher Max "Little Black Book" one-shot was awesome and he killed that Wolverine Revolver one-shot last week.  He’s a great crime writer with a sense of humor.

  2. I also really dug Little Black Book and have been looking forward to this run (first time since Ennis left I have been excited about this book).

  3. This will be the test to see if I’ll like Gischler. Since he’s doing the next Deadpool ongoing soon.

As a whole, this story sounds interesting but it’ll be tough to top Swiercynski’s arc.

  4. Gischler has a tough act to follow.  I loved Swierczynski’s arc.  I progressively enjoyed Parlov’s art more and more on the Ennis stuff.  This seems like a good story for his style.  I’m optimistic about this arc, but let’s get Frank back to the streets with a new ongoing writer after this.

  5. This sounds pretty good, and I too dug the Little Black Book story.  However, getting a really solid writer underway on a 60-issue run that culminates in something the Ennis did it; that would be perfect.

    Jason Aaron, anyone?

  6. If Aaron and Dillion are going to be the next team for this book….Watch the pulls for this.

It’ll probably go from the average of 60 pulls per issue to over the 200’s.

  7. Goran Parlovs art alone should be worth this.

  8. Saw a small preview for it on newsarama. Looks interesting, art looks really good.

  9. Yes. Look at those backgrounds. And his storytelling is prefect.

  10. Great issue. I think I am becoming quick fans of Gischler and Garlov.

  11. I wouldn’t want Dillon on this book.  Bring back Leandro Fernandez or the that did the first MAX arc and that single story about Frank in prison.

  12. Fernandez would be great if it was street-level or international stuff. Parlov is perfect for this arc.  He draws fucked-in-the-head rednecks well.

  13. Good call, ABV.  I actually liked his art alot more in this issue than I did his previous stuff.  This was a lot of setup though, so I hope the next issues have a lot of killing!
