POWERS #3
Walker’s past has come to bite him right in his ##$! big time and it’s going to take a @#$@#$ and a $@#$@ to get him out of the !@$#@#$@$@$@. It’s another potty mouth chapter in the award winning cops-meets-capes epic saga from the creators of Secret Invasion and The Mice Templar.

Wow they blew that monthly scedule pretty quick. I thought Oeming had a bunch ready to go?
About bloody time! Still, I can’t wait for this – it’s still one of my favourite comics.
A
back to trades.
I feel like i was lied to. This will definately be on time? No, fuck you, it won’t and you knew it.
Come on everybody, it’s a damn cool story. And it’s not like there aren’t dozens of other good books to read in the meantime.
I like what Milhouse said about waiting on The Simpsons…"like when you open an Eskimo Pie and wait just a little bit for it to melt."
So, come Wednesday, savor this one!
I read too many books for lateness to bother me.
@ PymSlap and vadamowens – I agree. I don’t find myself thinking "Oh man, I wish Powers came out this week," every time I read comics, week in and week out. A couple weeks or months isn’t a huge deal for a book like this, since its story doesn’t tie into any others. They said they’d be "on time" (which is really a varying and subjective concept). They were mistaken and life goes on.
The bigger issue is why this is $3.95 instead of $3.99. I’m not complaining, but it seems like Marvel could get an extra 4 cents out of me. Maybe that’s their unspoken deal to apologize for the "lateness."
I jumped on Powers with the #1 of this series, and while it seemed top-notch – the art is absolutely beautiful – I couldn’t get attached to any of the characters. Giving it one last chance, if I’m still lukewarm on it I’ll go back and start from the beginning sometime.
I really want to like it, I love the art very much.
If you guys have been following Bendis on Twitter, he said this issue was late because it’s literally 42 pages of story with no back matter or ads so cover to cover comics and took longer for production. The next issue is apparently right behind this one. And really, who cares if it’s late? It’s some of the best comics out there.
@Cooper Go back and read the older trades. So far, this arc hasn’t lived up to most of the rest of it for me, but pretty much all of it is just incredible.
Anyone else dissapointed by the relaunch so far?
YUP!
Nope
@Bendrix So far, yes. But I have no doubt that they’ll pull it through in the end.
I guess so. I just thought I would be more into it, now that it’s finally back. We’ll see after the first arc is finished.
Awesome
I really wish Oeming would stop doing the wierd layouts. The scene where they run down hill to the police cars was just clunky, especially considering this book used to be a clinic on pacing.
Okay, like mentioned before, I was underwelmed by the relaunch so far and this issue was make or brake for me, but DAMN, that was awesome! This book still got it. Hope they can keep it up.
dude! i am back on issues!! this was fantastic – no idea what happened last issue or why things happened this issue – but it was sweet
@edward Exactly. I was like "Who’s the girl again and why is her mom chasing ’em??? Uhh…WHO GIVES A FUCK, THAT’S GREAT!"
