POWER GIRL #24

Karen Starr has big plans to get Starrware back up and running, involving the media, Africa and Bruce Wayne. But when a terrorist shows up in Gotham City she must put aside her day job – again! – so Power Girl and Batman can save the day! Unfortunately for them, this “terrorist” is a metahuman, and while Power Girl may not remember it, their paths have crossed before.

  1. Keep trying to jump on this, maybe this issue will pull me in.

  2. @Franktiger, It’s actually a pretty good jumping on point.  With Generation Lost wrapped up, Karen’s business back in order, and her starting her new public identity, it’s a natural point for new readers.

I always save this comic for my last read, as it always leaves me wanting more.

  3. Isn’t Winick off this book in a couple issues?

  4. @OwlyFan  good points, thx, not sure why haven’t been able to stick with this before, but Basri’s stuff I like.

  5. @Bryce31

Winick’s last issue is 25, today they announced Basri’s last issue is 26. Not sure which will be my last. Matthew Sturges and Hendry Prasetya are taking over.

  6. I can’t believe it!  I just jumped back on last issue.  I jumped off after Palmiotti & crew left and was just coming back.  I’m not sure if I want to keep up with this or not then.

  7. I just started to read this book last issue and I loved it. I went and got Winick’s whole run and have really enjoyed it.

  8. @Slockhart  Dang it

  9. Damn . . . looks like I’m back off this book after 25.

  10. Well, for all I know, Prasetyo could be filling in for an issue. I just know Basri’s not solicited for August.

  11. No Basri, no me, un-pulled.

  12. Harsh, I mean I love Winick and Basri on this title but noone’s willing to give the new team a chance?  Noone expected Winick and Basri to live up to Palmiotti and crew’s standards either and look how well they did.

  13. Personally, I’m looking forward to it. I did some digging and found out that Prasetyo worked with Basri on ‘Fall Out Toy Works’ #5-6, which has artwork that more resembles the 1-12 Power Girl run, and Comic Book DB now lists him as the Penciler for Power Girl #24, with Basri as the cover artist. Also hoping Sturges can bring the comic back to being more fun. Bring the new team on I say!

  14. this was a pretty powerful story!

  15. indeed, it was a good start to a new arc, and the new antagonist seems to hold some promise.

  16. Power Girl is a great book.Enjoyed it from issue 1.Get the first graphic novel, you will not be disappointed.LOL

Great comic up to this point.
