NONPLAYER #1 (OF 6)

The future kind of sucks, and that goes double for Dana Stevens – she’s stuck in a dead-end tamale delivery job, and she’s way too old to be living with her mom. But in the online fantasy world of Jarvath, she’s an elite warrior. When she slays the wife of celebrity game character King Heremoth, her fame seems all but guaranteed – that is, until the game spins totally out of control.

  1. Everyone, I repeat, EVERYONE should buy this book. Nate Simpson is nothing short of extraordinary.

  2. Very excited about this one. I got my shop to order extra.

  3. I got no clue what this is. I just like the art. We’ll see.

  4. What are the chances my shop has this…

  5. i love the work and the blog…but considering its going to take months inbetween each issue…jmaybe i’l wait a few years for the collection

  6. Yeah, the art is beautiful. There’s a preview on his DeviantArt site. Writing looks on paar too. Can’t wait to read this & some Axe Cop for the first time.

  7. I’m only buying this for the art. I really don’t like stories about video games.

  8. @Malecema  –actually after looking at Nates Blog, i’m thinking the same thing.

  9. @Suicidalkangarooz  I’ve got a feeling its going to be a lot deeper than that

  10. @wallythegreenmonster  Who said it was gonna take months in between issues?

  11. Nate Simpson did….he did an interview over at Comics Alliance.

  12. I love the months between issues thing. I am more commited to a book which I know is supposed to be every two months. Cash flow wise it’s a lot better for me.

  13. @JNewcomb  –i don’t mind the idea and don’t get me wrong…i’m not a schedule guy. However from that interview i got the vibe that at best, this would be a quarterly thing.

  14. @AlanRob  Yeah, from what I’ve heard I think I may be wrong about the story.

  15. @wallythegreenmonster  Quarterly is even better for me. Make the book thicker (32 pages say), include a letters section and release quarterly for $5.

    Like The Question Quarterly.

  16. I actually talked to Nate at Wondercon about the book and he said two issues a year.

  17. I LOVE HYPE!

  18. @NawidA  –thats very interesting. At least he knows what he can do. But wow…3 years for this.

  19. Hurm… Anyone else seeing a 5.2 avg rating on this book right now? Curious!

  20. WOW…so glad I pulled this on a whim a few weeks ago. The guys at the shop said they each had a turn with my copy this morning as I was the only one to pull it.

  21. I was blessed by the comic gods in that I was able to get my hands on the last copy at my LCS. 5/5 amazing art and story

  22. pleasantly surprised at how many extra copies my LCS ordered. Look forward to reading this tonight or tomrrow. Art looks rad…so much better than online.

@BeautyOfDisaster  –comic sloppy seconds and thirds! EWWWW! hahaha

  23. can’t wait for more Iain m. Banks meets final fantasy.

  24. So, SO good! Art was gorgeous, the world (s) are intriguing, Simpson fits an amazing amount of panels and detail into each page, in short, I love this. Will be waiting anxiously for issue #2!

  25. Don’t really get the Korean references in this, but he does dedicate this to a ‘Jiyoung.’

    Pretty amazing work in this.
